About National Student Leadership Summit
The annual gathering of every chapter's leadership.
Summit 2026 convened August 7 to 9 at Michigan State University. Delegates assembled Kits of Hope, pitched projects in the HFSD Shark Tank, presented research, and closed Saturday with the Gift of Health Gala.
It is the one weekend a year the entire national network is in the same room, and where the next year of student service gets planned. Summit 2027 details are announced through chapters.
How it works
From first step to real work.
- 1
Train
Sessions cover membership engagement, financial and event management, fundraising, partnerships, social entrepreneurship, mentorship, and disaster preparedness.
- 2
Serve
Delegates assemble Kits of Hope, the national hygiene kit project, together on site, and train in disaster response: CPR, tourniquets, and splinting.
- 3
Pitch and present
Chapter teams pitch projects in the HFSD Shark Tank, judged by Humanity First USA leaders, and present their work in the academic research showcase.
- 4
Celebrate
The weekend closes with the HFSD awards, the annual group photo, and the Gift of Health Gala.
Three Summits
Three summers, three campuses.
Each of the last three Summits met on a different host campus. In 2024 delegates met at the University of Michigan. In 2025 more than 65 leaders from 22 chapters trained at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. In 2026 the Summit convened at Michigan State University, August 7 to 9.
